The Imagists are proud to announce the opening of Prawn Pasadena, our latest project to date. The fast-casual restaurant, brain child of celebrated chef Mark Peel (Campanile, La Brea Bakery, Ma Maison, Chez Panisse) is set to open this Monday in the beautiful courtyard at One Colorado, Pasadena (CA).
Involved since the very inception of the project, we were lucky enough to name the concept, create its distinctive visual universe, design all the print and online collateral material necessary to its success, and participated in the design of the so-unique space it occupied in Old Pasadena.
This opening follows the success of the very first Prawn iteration, in the heart of Grand Central Market in Downtown Los Angeles. The rebrand of the space formerly know as Bombo by The Imagists, in mid-2017, led to a 80% daily increase in revenue, paving the way for a larger location in nearby Pasadena.
Unveiled by Eater on November 9, Prawn Pasadena sets itself apart as an unapologetic ode to the sea: distinctive jade hues, bright fish scale tiling, clean white surfaces mixed with aged wood, underwater life murals are all designed to celebrate and carry the carefully crafted seafood-centric menu. Future locations, large and small, will tell the same story in a different tone, making each experience novel yet familiar.
Prawn opens to the public on November 13, 2017. Let's meet there! And in the meantime, check out the menu on Prawn's website, as well as the reveal article on EATER LA.
