Behold the nouveau-retro art deco beauty that is the Panache Hotel in Paris. Designed by Dorothee Meilichzon, M&O Paris designer of the year 2015, the property is quite a beauty! Dorothee immerses herself in every aspect of all of her design project, whether it be interior architecture, furniture, carpets or branding. Her signature aesthetic focuses on creating a crisp and clean atmosphere, incorporating highly specific decor elements and featuring historical pieces brimming with personality.
Hotel Panache is located in the 19th century building that once housed the Hotel Opera-Madrid. For its design, Dorothee Meilichzon pulled inspiration from the Flat Iron Building in New York to create an aesthetic that is both “quirky and quintessentially Parisian.” Therefore, not two of its 40 guest rooms are the same. Each room features clever details and old-fashioned touches that make the space truly unique. The only characteristic that the rooms share is the harmonious color palette of navy blues, emerald greens and anthracite gray on white.
Upon entering the restaurant at Hotel Panache, one is welcomed by delightful brass, velvet, marble, panel moldings and patterned tile. The chevron floors give off a vibe that is uniquely New York, while the inside lighting fixtures work harmoniously together with the natural light to create a bright and clean sensation.
Overall, it is quite easy to see why Hotel Panache is any designer’s or aesthetics freaks’ dream. Dorothee Meilichzon has created a modern environment portraying an eclectic Art Nouveau aesthetic that is difficult not to fall in love with, no matter your creative background.
